At the ripe age of 1, Lu realized that drumsticks were more comforting to him than a warm bottle. After many bands, tours in vans, and blistered hands, Lu continues his prolific songwriting in not just his solo career but also with his band, Sunfur.
Currently Lu writes daily and performs at specialty venues where the atmosphere and intimacy are paramount. A prolific songwriter and passionate performer, Lu’s music will resonate your classic rock mantra while pulling the heartstrings of your new indie desires.
Early Years -- Lu (aka- Sweet Lu) has been playing music virtually his entire waking life. In the 5th grade, he took to a drum set at a party and lit up the room. It was his first experience with an audience, and he loved it. After nearly 10 years with his pride and joy, Sunfur, Lu took to learning guitar and continued his solo career, songwriting, and lighting up the world one well-crafted song at a time.
Songwriting -- Like his heritage, his music is a mix of old school and new vibe energy that blends genres. Lu is a multi-instrumentalist. He uses all manner of drums, percussion, guitar, ukulele, harmonica, and more in his music. Early influences (e.g., Beatles, Eddie Vedder, George Michael, Zeppelin) accent his songwriting that is both diverse and relatable. Melody, rhythm, and insightful messages flow to him constantly.
Live -- Thirty years of performing from cafes to clubs to large venues and music festivals has allowed Lu to hone his craft and comfort level in front of different crowds. Lu performs at unique venues and enjoys intimate settings however is completely at home on big stages as well. Passionate and talented, he is a new channel of music that is fresh and yet familiar.
